郑成功病逝后，台湾由其子郑经统治。
1674年，中国云南省的吴三桂因康熙皇帝要册除其王爵而发兵抗清。并与广东及福建省联合起兵，历史上称为“三藩之乱”。
这时，台湾的郑经也趁机向清朝发动攻势。
不料清朝康熙大帝在1683年大举反攻台湾，郑经在清兵成功占领台湾不久后去世。
