    管跳蚤危害的程度是否嚴重, 使用吸塵器清潔室內環境都是必須而且有效的方法, 尤其在除害劑施用前若不事先使用吸塵器清理環境地板或地毯上的灰塵等雜質, 便會讓防治效果大打折扣。

    吸塵器最重要的功能是可吸走大部份的成蟲以及各幼期階段如卵、 幼蟲。 用完吸塵器後, 馬上將灰塵倒進塑膠袋中, 需要時或可噴入殺蟲劑後將袋口封住並丟棄, 記住必須馬上處理, 否則吸塵機便成為跳蚤生長發育最佳場所。

    將不用或太舊之地毯或傢俱丟棄, 有些笨重的傢俱也要移動, 包括沙發及床底下之地毯及地板縫隙都要徹底吸淨。 貓狗睡覺及休息處一定要經常更換褥墊, 並常打掃吸塵。
